Hi there

Anybody thought of Elijah Wood as Keats? Needs brown contact lenses but his eyes have the necessary intensity, and he isn't tall or too old! Have been a lover of Keats since I was 12 and when I took the kids to see Lord of the Rings I thought EJ had a Keats look about him.

I have to admit, thinking about it, I'd spend the whole movie saying, "Keats is a hobbit!" I'm sure Keats would have loooved that, considering he was about the same size as a hobbit in real life--though, I'm sure his feet were proper sized and I hope not nearly as furry.

Glad to see my suggestion has planted a seed here. :wink:

Although, it seems that Mr. McAvoy's career is starting to take off quite quickly, as I'm seeing him in more and more things. Perhaps his attractive status as a "relative unknown" will not remain for much longer.

He's in a rom-com out this week called Starter For 10 Malia if you wan't to check him out.

Y'all know I just won't let this James McAvoy thing go. I will not stop until we know who has been cast as Keats, and since in all likelihood it will not be my boy here, I've got to enjoy the fantasy while I can.

Here's our first good look at him in Regency garb on one of the promo posters for Becoming Jane:

Incidentally, I also just saw The Last King of Scotland tonight, and he's really brilliant in it. The guy could definitely hold down such a demanding role as Keats, no doubt.

You know ever since you put the idea in my head I can't think of anyone else who could play Keats - he must!!!!!!!!!

How many actors do you suppose really know that much about the historical figures they end up playing before they actually have the role?

I'm just imagining you in there having arguments with the director over the way certain scenes should be done, Saturn. I think that by the end of it, you'd hate the very film you starred in.

Either that or I'd be good as Severn - the loyal friend. I'm liking that idea much more now.
