Saw Keats on Jeopardy

Postby Malia » Wed May 03, 2006 5:27 pm

Yes, our favorite poet was the inspiration for a Jeopardy "answer" last night that focused on inspired book titles. Someone (forgive me, can't remember the author's name  ) based the title of his book on this line from John Keats's Ode to a Nightingale.

Can you figure out which line from the poem was taken for the title of a book? ;)

Was it "Darkling, I listen?" :)

No, but you're right--that *is* the title of a book! Hmm. . .wonder if they would have accepted that as a correct answer? Oh, no they wouldn't because they listed the Author's name!
I'm going to find that name. . .

It was a book written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. (How could I forget a name like that???)

I love F. Scott Fitzgerald's musings on "Ode to a Nightingale", by the way

I'll be taking a summer course on Hemingway and Fitzgerald--can you imagine? Discussing those two on hot summer evenings?

Hemmingway is very "manly", don't you think? The one thing I can say for him is that he has an amazing power to make wine sound like the food of the gods--I always want to take a drink after I read his stuff
