Check on the internet. Usually Romantic period is listed from 1785-1830 depending on the source. You can find anything on that Period on the Web.

I suppose the OP is long gone, but Thomas De Quincy's "Recollections of the Lakes and Lake Poets" is beyond wonderful. It's not the quick internet search; won't give you the dates; but it will imbue you with the spirit. If you have a pulse. The essays beyond passing wonderful. Will make you want to find someone on the street and shake them and say "you must read and linger with this."

Here are some internet sites that provide decent information on the romantic era, though checking for books at your local library may prove more useful:

http://academic.brooklyn.cuny.edu/engli ... 6/rom.html

And if you're going for a very general elaboration on what happened in the Romantic Era, here you go...

Romanticism (or the Romantic Era) was an artistic, literary and intellectual movement that originated in the second half of the 18th century in Europe, and gained strength in reaction to the Industrial Revolution. In part, it was a revolt against aristocratic social and political norms of the Age of Enlightenment and a reaction against the scientific rationalization of nature. It was embodied most strongly in the visual arts, music, and literature, but had a major impact on historiography, education and natural history.
