I had a job interview today, and it went great! They loved me (were very impressed by the Masters :D ), and even though I still have a second interview yet to do, I'm not at all worried that I won't get the job. Best of all, I'd be teaching flute (maybe even piano) lessons and making $20-$25/hr. doing it! I might not get many hours at first, but it's a relatively new company and seems like the kind of place where I could be upwardly mobile over time. I could possibly teach group classes, maybe pick up extra administrative work if it opens up, etc. Plus, they said that they've hardly got any flute teachers, and none in my area, so I'd be "high in the queue" for students. . . so yay! I'm so excited!

Great news Stacey :D

Hope it all works out for you that sounds like a job with real prospects and job satisfaction doing something you love - isn't that what everyone wants in an ideal world?

Wow, that was fast! It's wonderful to hear you've found a good job so soon after graduation (can you rub some of your mojo off on me in my career search? ;) ). Sounds like you're really on your way to making this your life's work. I love it when a passion and a job that pays money can come together in such a symbiotic way. Good luck! :)

Well, in fairness, I got a jump on this one over the winter after a friend of mine interviewed there, so I'd contacted them a few months ago and let them know I was interested. So this one has been in the works for awhile.

HUZZAH, Credo!! I will live vicariously through you as I pound the proverbial pavement while looking for another job upon completion of my master's in December... :!:

That deserves a night out replete with dinner and bubbly...

Well, we'll save that for when I actually sign the contract.

Hooray! Now for the big question: Does it pay enough to cover your student loan payments?? AND, if so, do you know anyone who is looking for a professional in organizational leadership?

Congratulations Credo I knew a lady of your talents would not be unemployed for long.

All the best - hope it works out for you :D

I've missed all you guys - are you all on vacation? :(

This place has been as deceased as the proverbial dodo these last few weeks :?

I've been around, Saturn, but I get the feeling you and I have been doing the same thing--checking the boards, seeing no one is writing and then just moving along. It is hard to feel inspired to write something when it seems sooo very quiet here!

Anyway, I'm going to be in an intense communications seminar today and tomorrow. Last night, my group practiced our speech-making skills in front of a camera and this morning bright and early I'll be working with a journalist on my writing skills. Later this morning, web-design, and then back to speech-making again in the afternoon. It will be a LOT of fun :)

(And I do mean that sincerely.)

Yeah I've been doing the same as you really.

It feels pointless posting when there's so little activity :(

I could post all day but its discouraging when no-one wants to play :?
