If you are going to listen to a great new British singer-songwriter listen to Tom McRae or Stephen Fretwell.

I quite enjoy Scott Matthews actually. And there's an American guy called Ryan Adams who is pretty great, he did a cover of "Wonderwall" which suddenly made the song less irritating. ;)
Lol, once at one of his concerts, one of his 'fans' who was surely trying to agitate him shouted out "Play 'Run To You'!!", which is a Bryan Adams song. Ryan screamed back, "**** you! :evil: I hate Bryan ****in' Adams!!"

"Like Spinning Plates"

While you make pretty speeches,
I'm being cut to shreds
You feed me to the lions,
a delicate balance

And this just feels like spinning plates
I'm living in cloud cuckoo land
And this just feels like spinning plates
My body is floating down the muddy river.
-Thom Yorke, Radiohead

Our meddling intellect
Mis-shapens the form of beauteous things,
We murder to dissect"

The Wreath

A bitter year it was. What woman ever
Cared for me so, yet so ill-used me,
Came in so close and drew so far away,
So much promised and performed so little,
So murderously her own love dared betray?
Since I can never be clear out of your debt,
Queen of ingratitude, to my dying day,
You shall be punished with a deathless crown
For your dark head, resist it how you may.

I Will Write

He had done for her all that a man could,
And, some might say, more than a man should.
Then was ever a flame so recklessly blown out
Or a last goodbye so negligent as this?
'I will write to you,' she muttered briefly,
Tilting her cheek for a polite kiss;
Then walked away, nor ever turned about...

Long letters written and mailed in her own head -
There are no mails in a city of the dead.

-Robert Graves

“Life may change, but it may fly not;
Hope may vanish, but can die not;
Truth be veiled, but still it burneth;
Love repulsed, - but it returneth.”

EEEK, Saturn, I accidentally deleted your recent quote. I'm so sorry :oops: I wanted to quote it and I accidentally pressed "edit"--and then realizing I'd pressed edit, I hit the delete post key and then realized I deleted not only my edit, but your post as well! Oy, I should never utilize electronic equipment before my first cup of tea. Anyway, when you realize your post is gone, know my ineptitude is the reason. Please re-post your quote (and you can delete this mea culpa if you want :lol: ).

Mephisto:

How now it boils again and how you shout.
Go in a comfort her, you dunce.
Where such a little head sees no way out,
He thinks the end must come at once.
Long live who holds out undeterred!
At other times you have the devil's airs.
In all the world there's nothing more absurd
Than is a Devil who despairs.

Goethe's Faust
Why don't you really tell me how you feel!
