Out of My Mind

Postby dks » Mon Nov 28, 2011 4:26 pm

Finally! May not be floodgates, but a wet whistle is better than a dry kisser.

Out of My Mind

when I exit my mind
the jaws of the sky open for me
revealing secrets
issued from the lips of the wind

when I let all the network of wires and fibers
unravel in their own sweet time
seas ripple with chill, a delightful knowing
blowing me kisses off crests sighing,
stars come out dressed
in color
winking at me wildly

when I set conclusion free
from behind bars of scrutiny
blackbirds lift their boat-tails on wires
conduct a tempo of beating hearts
heralding the fires of my ignited illusions

how tremendous it is—
every spark, drop, draft, crumb
quivering in joy
over my long awaited departure

I won’t tidy, shift, arrange or care.
I’ll create—
a breathless copy of film from a dream;
a platter of words—a sculpture of specters out of air;
how easy

simple as a draught of light in a grass passage tomb,
dozing in a marble lotus in Agra at noon
a stroll in stone sunset
down the sandy floor of the Valley of the Kings

there’s no sparse speech for the ecstasy delusion brings

among the algebra, the daily spasms of ordinary things
it’s all a cinch—
out of my mind
"I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and the Truth of Imagination."

dks - always a joy to hear from you. Your work makes me think in many different ways - like Keats's notion of branching thoughts in some untrodden region of my mind.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read it, BL...I really need the feedback and to know that I can help anyone access any 'untrodden region' in their mind makes my heart gasp in pleasant surprise...as long as someone derives something from it...then that itself is damn good.

True indeed, I wish I had the words, or the critical mode of thought to give you more constructive feedback...one can only marvel and sigh and, and wonder.

I liked it. The first two paragraphs were the best, in my opinion.
