Awakenings

Stirrings in the deep:
Transformations of
Old engines forgotten
And rusted to a still
Are awakened with
Rumblings of a once
Dormant fire below.

From the distance
Outside, your nerves
That you so well hid
Were matched with
Near hysterical ones
I rambled through.

The mind races faster
Than my lame hands
Touch the keys to tell
Brimming possibility.
Fingers promise-led
Try conjuring a life.

Stitching hope from
A patchwork of sorts,
An honest confusion
Of confessions: hope
Born in a cradle of
Rekindled flames.
__________
"Oh what a misery it is to have an intellect in splints".
