O! Lovely Day

O! Lovely Day**

The Moon’s glimmer teases with a glimpse of the light of day.
Fireflies spark fleeting flames, floating in the shade.
The light of day is far gone, yet there still remains
An ember glowing effervescently, tempting light to stay.

O! Lovely day
When blooms unfold to a warm embrace —
When strokes of silver-turned-gold light sun-spread sparkling lakes.

Let Nightingales sing the night away.
Accompany Fireflies under a Moon’s feathered ray,
Let them rest on bending sallows,
Bowing at the peeking sun,
As they pour song-light to the pallid grey night
Until pure darkness is again nigh strange.

Thank you! Inspired by Keats in addition to Emily Dickinson’s “We Grow Accustomed to the Dark” :D
