Word of the day

Yes, it's back.

Write a poem using the word saltant, an adj. meaning dancing, leaping, or jumping.

Least amount that does not rhyme is five lines, anything smaller must be a couplet.

Birds landing amongst saltant boughs,
This is why I know it is spring time now.

Thanks, happy writing!

Crummy example I know, but it's just for context.

Kaki...I bet that you're feeling just as the birds in your springtime poem are...especially after the arduous test you went through today.

Lovely word, by the way. I've never heard of it before; its sound doesn't seem to match its definition, but I appreciate you exposing it to us! :)

Maybe this time someone besides wolf fire will take you up on your challenge.

Ah, a new word of the day. Thanks for bringing it back. ;)

Ok, saltant...

Saltant monkeys flinging 'bout
Joy and ecstasy within their shout

Shaking trees and swinging limbs
Bend beneath the screaming hymns

Spring and summer forever be
Present in the ringing trees

Huzzah! monkeys!!! anybody seen 12 monkeys, man that is such a great movie....

Well, I am in a rather nature oriented mood so hillock, which is a little hill, is the word for today. Thanks for posting woolf fire I appreciate the loyalty!
Your poem rocks by the way! :D

This place is dead.

Eath 1. easy; not difficult 2. comfortable; free from pain 3. easily; without difficulty

It's a Scotish word. And you can add an 'e' on the end if you think it looks prettier that way.

I very much take exception to that idea.

Just because no one is posting in THIS thread you're pissed

That's all I was saying. THIS thread, as you so put it, is dead, I was not refering to the site as a whole. Well, maybe this whole section in the forum but not the whole thing. It had been a while since anyone had started a new thread in this section when I said that. So forgive me for my generalizations.

Oh, the word, for anyone who bothers to read this is match.

No I don't feel very creative today and that is why it's such a simple word... Perhaps if I quite picking such strange words someone might post? Hmmmm...

It's not the words you're choosing, it's just the general idea of the thread.

No offence but it's not my cup of tea.

I just don't write poems to order.

I know you don't, you have told me before.

All I'm saying is people really aren't that interested in the idea sorry.

Don't be so offended that this thread isn't successful. Many threads die unloved and unwept - it's nothing personal dude.

I'm not offended, I'm actually having fun just looking up words just because. I'm not very fond of attention to be quite honest so the fact that no one is posting in this thread doesn't bother me at all. If nothing else just the fact that you check on me evey now and then is really more attention than I expected.

I just have a very annoying tendency to state and often restate the obvious. It is one of my strange habits.
