The Lovers' Creed

Absolve me from the guilt,
Absolve me from the pain.
Take away this longing
So I may breathe again.

Free me from desire,
Free me from the lust.
End these bitters tears
Or dry them in the dust.

Pardon me my words,
Pardon me my lies.
Think not I blame you
For these heavy sighs.

Release me from sorrow,
Release me from regret.
Forgive me if I love you,
My love is not a threat.
"Oh what a misery it is to have an intellect in splints".
