A Remembrance

I finished it. I decided to go ahead and post it...

A Remembrance

Jade fields brush my memory.
Beryl lime glens, sheep fringed, cold—
I can still hear the bay breaks
Clap the freezing moor.

How long did our names last there on the shore?
The sage coast rolling with blithe speed—
Mossy, royal, capping white;
The embroidered beach head smoothed overnight.

And I, like some warrior queen inspired,
Chasing ghosts by an Easter fire,
Following bluffs, seabirds,
And heather blooms—

I will only be remembered
For scrawling, in my lilac blood,
The name of a green, native king
Across the Carrowmore tombs.

:)

Stunningly beautiful Denise as ever.

I can see you like some Boudicca-type Amazonian Queen on the sands writing your name with a branch or piece of driftwood.

Edward can you please keep personal relationships offline there...offline please.

I know you are enthusiastic and all that but please keep personal items to PMs etc if you don't mind.

:)

Just remember how people can abuse our good nature and use personal information against us.

[not mentioning any names but you don't want another guy like him popping up here now do you?] :?

Shucks, thanks...

That poem meant much to me--as it was inspired by something very beautiful. I still never believe I do those things justice with my words...

Edward just lets his romantic heart get away from him...rather fitting for this forum...but yes, Edward...that'll be enough *slap on hand* :?

Even the greatest poets would agree that beautiful moments and beautiful people are impossible to capture fully or do justice to in words.

We must however try - that is what art is: the attempt to recreate a thing of beauty in another medium that will endure once the moment, the person or the feeling has disappeared.

Poetry can make the impermanent last.
