Write a poem...for tomorrow...yes...THAT...day

Yes its THAT time of year - tomorrow is that day which I won't mention.

Anyone who wants to write a love poem to the one you love, loved etc. be my guest...

Think of the person in your life that you love the most - what do you want to say to them in your inmost heart that maybe you've never said before, or never even dared to think before.

For one day open your hearts and let the words flow.

I shall be be burying my head, watching Python and pretending it's not happening :? :(

Come on team show the love - Edward, Denise, all my coterie of poets get those creative juices flowing...

I think I've written more than enough in my time.

Poetry is the language of love and has been for thousands of years.

"Poetry is love, love poetry,- that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."

Write a poem via *GULP* prompt...?

I've got stage fright...but I am overdue. The Muses are avoiding me lately...

St Valentine's poem

In Fey Repose

I would have you in certain flesh,
unadorned, as in a splendor.
In glamor you glory, in nakedness
you are my vision, my voice in the wilderness
calling virtue to a virtueless land.

But you covet it much too much, in excess
your belts, pins, your singular jewels
are fashion sure; but I fashion you fresh
without effort, or if with effort, less
by pen and ink, more by this hand.

I would have you in fey repose,
given to fabric surrender,
where light cuts frenzy on your dress,
and sets to torch the idle stare, the caress
and hold of fiber optics on your clothes.

But you love it much too much, in distress
you air the elemental duel
of keeping all yet having none;
with no heat felt, you are coolly undone
by the slow ice which renders disdain cruel.

{I started this stupid tradition of writing a St Valentine's poem to my girlfriend; since we've married, most of them have become sonnets [easier for me], still this is one of her favorites}

I Love You

As I touch your beauty,
the radiant gaze of the earth's flowers,
streams to me; the wonder of your love...

Thanks for the efforts.

Alas I am bereft of words at present.

Yes, beautiful, BOP and Jamiano...truly...

Where light cuts frenzy on your dress.--That's nice, indeed... :!:

Oddly, Saturn, I, too, was lost for words yesterday...

OK, here's a terrible poem I jotted down yesterday (Valentine's Day) in honor of one of my great loves. . .the vanilla latte--*extra* hot!

Call me
Scald my skin with your
Perky affirmations
"Life is worth living,
The chilly dawn dissloves
In the heady steam of love"

And at the first sip
I believe

But I imbibe too much of you
I taste the bitterness lurking
Beneath your sweet vanilla
Innocence

Feel my pulse pound
In my temples
Toss and turn in the night

I find no relief

Better late than never...here goes my little ditty after a bit of rumination I'm making this up as I go along:

Transfusion

My blood for yours,
I'd volunteer it.
I wish you could
Feel how it flows,
How fast it courses
Around my heart;
How it boils, bleeds,
It nearly congeals
When we're apart.

If you only knew
How it bursts,
And arteries quake
How all my organs
Seem to cramp
With secret desire.

If I could give you,
Offer you my heart,
In its broken state
Would you refuse
Such transfusion,
Or pity on me take?

Your life for mine:
I would have it so.
Already you posses
My mind, my peace
All of my thoughts.
What need a heart
When its fevered,
Sore, beating alone?
______

Hmmm not sure about this
