Statuesque

Numbness settles now
Like an overnight frost.
Chiselled to perfection
This portrait is done.

Bowed by an inactivity
Frenetic in its idleness;
The slumber of night
Steals my daydreams.

Silent and still, I pose
With an archaic smile,
A fixed, stupid grin
Of deceptive glee.

Frozen in a coma,
A study of form,
Silent and ageless
A marble-clad life.

I like your interior meaning here...

I particularly love this:

Silent and still, I pose
With an archaic smile,
A fixed, stupid grin
Of deceptive glee.

Frozen in a coma,
A study of form,
Silent and ageless
A marble-clad life.

I love 'frozen' and 'coma' together in the same line...they taste delicious in that stanza...I love the language in this one, Stephen, (you know how I love words and language) It's palatable--'chiselled' and 'frost' in the same stanza, too--yum...like jello and a chocolate Wendy's Hamburgers frostie...

Nice one, good man...

I wish I had a clue what this poem is about though - I'm not sure myself and I wrote it.

I blame the drugs :?
