An Outing

Wrote it last night...

An Outing

far beneath the skin of every evening
night fells the day

jowls of a lemon yellow moon
kindle beating hob wings
sallow, sleepy angels perched in trees
singing

every sound a morsel
shadows violently blue
toddle up rooftops
lick a keen, taffy star

tangerine bandeau
of light streams
down into avenue sewers
asphalt hiccups mask
swigs of emerald rain

elms nod
pines curtsy
magnolias offer sacrificial
upside down smiles

the beautiful contour of reason
travels many many miles

As usual I can only read with envy and wonder where you get those extraordinary images from.

You certainly are a keen observer of nature and can describe simple things in the most exquisite way.

Every line is a gem, I don't even know where to begin my praise but I single out these lines particularly:

sleepy angels perched in trees
singing

every sound a morsel

^Dear me what else can I say about this? I don't know.

Wonderful doesn't do it justice.

My praise is too faint Denise.

I really do admire your work to the point of great jealousy

You have no reason to be jealous--and you know it.

You read one of my ditties, and you've read 'em all.
