Very impressive SP.

I like the opening line very much.

A very evocative, haunting poem.
A hint of melancholy and sadness about it too, but also fondness and reassurance, as in the last stanza,

Years will come and lives will go
Summer sun and Winter snow
These bricks and mortar saw them all
and holds them safe within its halls.

which holds promise of the future.
"Oh what a misery it is to have an intellect in splints".
