Two Keats-related poems.

(Hi, I'm new here...My name's Nadia, I've been an obsessive Keats fan for awhile now. I'm always looking for other fans to chat with, and can be found on AIM at SnuggleKeats. Anyway, here's a couple of my sonnets...They're not the best, but they're, I think, the only Keats-related ones I have at the moment. Enjoy!)

In Praise of Joseph Severn at the Deathbed of Keats

With the patience of Virtue embodied,
you sat for weeks with miseries untold,
watching the mystery of Death unfold
and Sorrow sow its most embittered seed
on the one whose face you taught all to read
through paintings we now every day behold.
That you managed to warm him through the cold
and describe aloud each friend's loving screed
is a testament to the inherent
goodness of your heart; that in times of woe
you put on the only face he could bear
with the soft attention of a parent.
Tip your hats to Severn, to whom we owe
thanks that at least one gentle friend was there.

Two Centuries of Love Letters

Vain wishes are sat on the printed page
that once were penned only for her soft eyes -
here all can mourn the collapse of an age
that exists each time one, whom Love denies,
echoes in his own hand the saddest words.
I sense their eternity in these hearts:
Ours is not the most woeful tale they've heard,
yet they hate to see two so far apart.

Your absence has not yet crush'd my spirit
for with Fanny's aid, I hold love as true.
Possibility, though I may fear it,
makes me think that Keats would have saved for you
some star-bright hope - this does not come near it,
for nobody hopes as hard as I do.

Very good, they're really nice SnuggleKeats, and might I point out, and quick look will show, that the poems in this forum can be about anything, any style, any subject, not neccessarily Keats-inspired or about Keats.

Thanks for your contribution.

Well a new thread for each poem so people can reply to individual works, but this is a very quiet forum so I wouldn't post a great many at once, I wouldn't expect much response, we are a small community.
