Oh little flake of purest white
How soft you glide from heavens height

Brilliant! It gives the snowflake an image of being small and tiny--and soft. And it really rhymes! I LOVE it! :

I detect wistful overtones, a hint of sadness, maybe a quiet reflection.

I think I'd drop 'Ode' from the title. Just thinkin'.

'Ode' is appropriate because she is addressing the snowflake directly, and that's what an ode is.
