She Depends on You

i know how the land blooms black
when the night
spreads her ink thick fingers
across the world

i know why she draws sky blinds
tight as she can
to keep the light of sun breathing
in a cadence of sleep
simmering

i also know she depends on you
to keep shut the multitude of blue—
flooding color of dawn that burns like lapis—
indigo crushed, dusted along the skies

keepers of twilight
that are your eyes

I've missed your poems so much dks, and this one doesn't disappoint. As usual I'm dumbstruck!
