The void

Postby marwood » Thu Sep 17, 2009 10:48 am

A single blade of grass
Like a razor shell, cuts
Through the battlefield mud,
Followed soon, by another;
Through the tragic mask
With its grimacing trenches,
A whole army reaching out
To embrace the senseless silence;
Nature reclaims the vacuum
With each green spear of life.

Oh I like this very much marwood; arresting image of the grass thrusting through the desolation.

"...green spear of life". I love that.
"Oh what a misery it is to have an intellect in splints".

Here, here, Marwood...very nice indeed...I love this image:

A single blade of grass,
Like a razor shell, cuts
Through the battlefield mud,
Followed soon, by another...

...oh, I really do love enjambed lines--almost fervent in delivery--like an urgent whisper...great verse!
"I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and the Truth of Imagination."
