The Land of Bryn y Mor

Postby Bordesley » Thu Oct 29, 2009 11:15 pm

A land of caravans it was
The land of Bryn y Mor
No rustic Sussex cottage there
To sweep unto the shore
No red façade of Georgian dash
Nor Titian Cotswold hue
But row on row of metal box
Some red some green some blue
Yet peacefulness did reign supreme
Each day rolled slowly by
The glory of the Cader range
Was sweet balm for the eye
An evening perfume filled my sense
Reflected by the sea and hence
I do not want to leave this shore
Beside the land of Bryn y Mor

Excellent stuff Bordesley, very Kubla-Khanesque.

I enjoyed reading this and feeling the images. I especially like the way "perfume" which elicits smell, is also "reflected" which is a sight word:

An evening perfume filled my sense
Reflected by the sea and hence

Just lovely. I want to see Bryn y Mor too.
