Burned hand

Burned hand

I have had my hand burned
So many times; now I'm raw,
Inarticulate and red-cracked,
Weeping at the folly of it all,
The pain juddering through
Like a loose pneumatic drill
Excavating this broken heart.

I've worn this agony before
Like a buttonhole perched,
A blood red poppy pinned
For all to see, quite exposed;
And friendship turns away,
Regardless, I'm cast astray,
Moorings severed like limbs.

Again I walk alone, bereft,
Inwardly broken with sighs,
Heaving with tears so heavy
They bury me at night under
A mountain of broken trust,
Of faces, and voices so dear
I can no longer bear the loss.

Healing is impossible now,
The blackened scars erupt
Anew with fresh torments.
No bind or salve can cure
The blistering burns. I ache,
Shudder and scream inside:

I made that mistake again.

Raw emotion, thanks for sharing Saturn.
Take care.
Marwood.
That I might drink, and leave the world unseen.

Very poignant Saturn. But there'salways hope....I hope you can find what you seek...
John....you did not live to see-
who we are because of what you left,
what it is we are in what we make of you.
