Ok...now the floodgates have opened again today for some reason...wrote this a few moments ago...wanted to share with you all...hopefully not bore you guys...

Waiting

Far off,
Along a lake,
In a green gloom
You and I dance.

You tenderly manage,
“I want to see a
Curtsy from you.”

What can I do,
But fear for my life?
As I’m breathless,
Each time.

I’m in your cloudy garden,
Eating your ripe apples,
Tracing the shapes of your peonies,
Fingering the fronds
Of all your dark palm trees;

And listening to the rain
Beat hard in the dark,
Making music peal and ring
Off of your glass-bottled wall.

Oh my goodness! The 2nd poem ever inspired by Mrs. Reynolds's cat! That a cat could inspire such poetry, it must have been named "Muse" ;) Of course I'm joking, dks :) Great poetry as usual! Very sensual and emotive. I'm glad your dry spell is over. Let the poetical monsoon season commense!

And so say I - wonderful stuff.

too

much.

But really?? Oh, how I DO love writing poetry (however bad it may be)...the Muse has been at least acknowledging my presence...

But wait.

There are a multitude of other Keats allusions in "Waiting." Did you guys spot them all? :?:

Nice one dks. It's kinda dirty, did you read Song of Solomon beforehand or something?

I had wondered if someone would interpet it that way...

It wasn't meant to be that...but, yes, the undertone is there, isn't it?
