Just sharing my edited and final version of a poem I posted a few days back. :) This is yet another one of Denise's metaphoric statements about love.

Marionnette

I swear
You negotiate
The environment
Like a breeze.

Your hands rove
Like a magician’s,
Plying over
One another so cursively,
So they seem lissomely
Independent from you.

Hardly a word uttered,
A virtuosic mime,
Every move buttered,
Choreographed deftly,
In time—

I toddle and fling
About,
A consort on wooden lathes,
Held surely and tight
By good seine twine,
And you.
