Waltz for ****** (a love poem)

Postby adonais » Tue Apr 10, 2007 11:33 am

A glimpse, a gaze, then gone;
I knew you then, to be the one.
Nobody else could know, but you and me:
Only, I had to let it be.
The moon, upon your brow
It lured me in, somehow
We played in rhymes, and pas de deux,
And whispered “I love you.”
We walked along the shore,
Our hearts entwined for evermore:
In every word and thought, I fought for you
Just like a knight-at-arms would do.
But my mail was rent and rust;
Truly my lance was bent, and turned to dust
When with your tears, mine own were shed–
And so I wounded you, instead.
Now I sit, and rhyme, alone,
And every stanza is a quiet moan.
But I still hum our happy melody,
And therefore I, remember, thee.

Thank you....it's not much, although, I believe it came straight from the heart. She still lives there, I guess :|

Everything that comes from the heart is beautiful, beauty is the chief characteristic of the human heart.
