I normally don't use profanity in my poetry (if that is what you'd deem it), but this is just how I really feel at the moment...

Strange how the shock and sense
Of a dream is certain
below the skin of a real day.

I know all about the right way
And what not to say.

Who will employ my retiring soul?
Subsidize my contracted spirit,
Laud my efforts to promote myself
Out of a particular black hole?

‘Invest your money.’
‘Go to that church.’
‘Don’t wear red to an interview.’
‘Be nice.’

It’s all about as relevant
As a goddamn bowl of mice.

Bad mood or no, you still got an excellent poem out of it. I particularly like:

Strange how the shock and sense
Of a dream is certain
below the skin of a real day.

The "s" alliteration is really good here too. In any case, you've turned your mood into a positive with the poem, I believe everything else will follow suit. It'll be okay and we're always here if you need to talk. :D Take care and good luck!

But, when I am consumed in the fire,
Give me new Phoenix wings to fly at my desire."
