Drawing Blood

I draw blood for my hurt,
I hurt as I draw blood.
Intermingled, blood, tears
Form a potent cocktail
Such as murderers quaff,
Suicides drink in gallons.

No pain is eased, no wounds
Will ever be blemish-free.
Scars remain, those seen
And unseen water-markers
Of that ebb and flow
Of an inconsistent tide
Beating back and forth
Swilling its huge bulk
Throwing chaos like dust
In the too wide eyes
Of a poor innocent man.

It is strange how pain can take such a beautiful form. Reading your poems makes my little black heart ache.
"Let me not wander in a barren dream,
But, when I am consumed in the fire,
Give me new Phoenix wings to fly at my desire."

I wish I didn't have to feel such pain.

I would trade this poem, every one I have ever written and will ever write for a pinch of happiness. :(
"Oh what a misery it is to have an intellect in splints".
