Satellite

You keep me like a satellite
Orbiting around your heart.
Contact intermittent, that
Vital communications cord,
That thin umbilical link
Is what stops me drifting,
And screaming soundless
As I watch the blue-gold
Planet of my heart's hope
Slowly disappear and face
Horror of all worst horrors::
That empty black abyss.

So I find myself floating
Circling on a whim, a hope
That one day you'll pull
And yank me in to earth.
And until that moment
I will watch and wait
So patient and alone
Ready to crash-land
Any time you please.
The world may laugh
May call me a fool
And mock my zeal.

But I care nothing
Of the world. All
That I ever want
All I ever need
I have found it:
A comet's tail
Meteor's trail
Aren't so rare
As your love.

So beautiful--your images here:

That thin umbilical link
Is what stops me drifting,
And screaming soundless
As I watch the blue-gold
Planet of my heart's hope
Slowly disappear and face
Horror of all worst horrors::
That empty black abyss.

and this:

I will watch and wait
So patient and alone
Ready to crash-land
Any time you please.
The world may laugh
May call me a fool
And mock my zeal.

I love the language...it's mouthwatering and rich...I love the color imagery in the first stanza...and the complete utter aching longing in that stanza above...so lovely...
"I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and the Truth of Imagination."
