Conversation

We're two hearts entwined
In a conversation of sorts,
An accommodation of souls,
A dialogue of small dreams
In competition for a hope.

I try and throw off my fears
And wish I could burden
My heart with all of yours.
Don't explain, don't excuse.
Don't reproof, don't deny,
Don't shoulder that weight
Alone; the labour is less
When two carry a load.

I'm always here with you
And promise that I'll never
Fail in my best intentions.
My words they are few
But each one is a truth,
Oaths of sincere fidelity.

Oh let me in, let me see
All that you dare not tell,
Let me soothe, and caress
That wounded, beautiful
Heart you keep from me.
Let me spread my wings,
Gently and serene, let
Me enfold you in my arms
And wash away the hurt.

I know it's only words,
That's all I have to give,
Until you open up to me
This conversation runs
Parallel, separate rails;
Two trains in the night
With only a hair's breath
Between us, I can feel
The wind of your heart
As it brushes past me
And speeds off away,
A passing fragrance
That intoxicates me,
A scent so pure that
It makes my world
A boudoir, a boutique,
A veritable cornucopia
Of beautiful, entrancing
And wonderful sighs.

I really like this, though, it makes me incredibly sad. There's an ethereal feel to it, like a half-remembered dream that lingers even after you've woke up.

But, when I am consumed in the fire,
Give me new Phoenix wings to fly at my desire."

...I agree, AE. And lo! A gentleman using the word 'boudoir' successfully in a great poem...*applause*

This is nice, indeed, Stephen. I like these lines:

I know it's only words,
That's all I have to give,
Until you open up to me
This conversation runs
Parallel, separate rails;
Two trains in the night
With only a hair's breath
Between us, I can feel
The wind of your heart
As it brushes past me
And speeds off away,
A passing fragrance
That intoxicates me...

How beautiful is that? Very nicely done, indeed!!

Damn!! I miss this place!! I've been busy with loads of love and life...

Nothing wrong with that of course

I wish I could do either, or both :(
