A Lesson in Love

A Lesson in Love

Those eyes will be the death of me,
Those lagoon blue pools of light.
I’ll drown in them for sure.
I’ll asphyxiate gladly, gasping
My last breath welcoming rest.
Your sweet Vampire bite will
Drain me as you drink me in.
Use me so my love, bleed me dry,
Take me to the point of no return,
And bring me back to life again.

To reach you my love I will drill,
I will tunnel my way to you soon,
Bare hands grasping each handful,
Of earth, bringing me closer. I’ll dig
And excavate the way clear to your
Impatient, but molten heart’s core.
I’ll swim every ocean, cross every sea
Buffeting my way, buoyed by your love,
My each and every breath panting for you
My voice calling your sweet name aloud
Until the waves are defeated and I’m
Washed up like Odysseus naked a’shore
And you find me there and revive me,
Compass me in your breast, giving me
The soft kiss of life, the hot breath
Of love that restores me completely.

We will astonish the world together.
We will be a prime example to teach
All future ages a lesson in love,
And men and women henceforth
Will marvel and wonder, disbelieving
At a great love so pure and so true
Too beautiful, a fairytale of sorts
That will set the world alight.

Some very fine lines here. The above were my favs.

But, when I am consumed in the fire,
Give me new Phoenix wings to fly at my desire."

Damn. Now this is verse...

Those eyes will be the death of me,
Those lagoon blue pools of light.
I’ll drown in them for sure.
I’ll asphyxiate gladly, gasping
My last breath welcoming rest.
Your sweet Vampire bite will
Drain me as you drink me in.

Take me to the point of no return,
And bring me back to life again.

You have done her the greatest credit in immortalising her in this supernal verse, my good man.
