Picking Up The Pieces

Postby Heaven/Hell » Fri Mar 07, 2008 2:34 pm

am a broken man picking up the pieces of shattered dreams -
I try to put them back together
But think why bother...
Life is never what it seems.

Light is dawning and a new day is perpetually forming -
In a world miles apart
From my bleeding heart...
Where all is violent and stormy.

Whither fled the soothing? Whither fled the infinite joy?
How can auguries of delight
That made me gasp day and night
Suddenly fade away destroyed?

I know, O ever-present Spirit! I will find thee again -
By the longing of my restless heart
The day will come when I start
To live in you, as you do in this pen.

I particularly like the stanzas of the "bleeding" and "restless" heart. They fit very well together. Stanza three is also particularly fine.
"Let me not wander in a barren dream,
But, when I am consumed in the fire,
Give me new Phoenix wings to fly at my desire."

Thanks a lot. Your compliments mean to me feelings I can't ever express.
