No ceremony

Postby Saturn » Fri Jul 18, 2008 8:25 pm

No ceremony

We need no grand parade,
marching band and Ticker-tape;
No lengthy open-top procession.
No shrill trumpet voluntary,
nor the loud kettledrum roll.

We need no acclamation loud,
Roman triumph, waving fronds.
No holiday lights burning bright
nor festival pageant decoration
or gaudy neon light's blaze.

We are already triumphant,
A proud celebration of sorts.
We need no high ceremony,
to write this thing in clouds
nor hitch alight a comet's tail.

Another masterpiece! Really like this one, Saturn. I particularly like the idea behind it. Some things are enough in and of themselves that any extra would just detract from the natural glory already present.

Thank you! Its good to be back. You're more than welcome. You're so modest! But seriously, none of my praise is undue or exaggerated.
