Why did I laugh tonight?

Postby 3m33 » Thu Feb 24, 2005 1:59 pm

I read that Keats was influenced by Dante's Commedia when he wrote this sonett. But as I don't know exactly what passage he read before writing this sonett, I'm not sure if I can regard Dante's text as Keats' pretext ...
Is there anybody who can help me with that problem? I'm working on a seminar paper and I really need this information as quick and exact as possible ...
I know that the concerned Dante-text has something to do with Paolo and Francesca, but I couldn't find the passage and therefore I really don't have an idea what it is about and in what way it influenced J.Keats.
I'd be very glad for a soon reply!
