Whispers

whispers float like ghosts
over the strong tongue
under the discerning palate,
unseen

they glide easy like a cutter over
glass water
through every open bud and cell
relishing

whispers fashion words
out of breath, tremor,
bars of utterance
muffled, low
undetected

pulses of exhalation—
they are words with no sound
bathing over the mouth
in hungry, hinting, murmuring red
feeling

give me all your delicious whispers
until I taste a bit of ginger bark abandon
somewhere in your vanilla breathing

I agree with Saturn. Your poems are such a sensory treat every time they're read! Seriously, you should look for a publisher. I don't know any big time publishing people but I know, without a doubt, I could get you published in at least 3 local magazines here in Virginia. Have you tried publishing locally?
