hello :)

i found this forum after a online search that had me looking up whatever i could about john keats. i was aware of him of course, but after seeing bright star, i am intrigued, curious & admittedly a bit smitten

Welcome harvest! I am also intrigued, curious and a bit smitten- so you are in similar company here. :D

i have a few books on order, but would welcome suggestions as to where to look for more info on keats, is there a specific biography i should read, and is there another film?

There isn't another film. As for a great Biography- Guy Murchie- The Spirit of Place in Keats is the best one I have read. Although it was written in 1955, I find it the best for accuracy (using the letters as evidence). American Murchie spent alot of time travelling to England and doing research- going to the places John lived and also went to Keats House and met the curator. You can find it on Amazon. Here's a great website which has his letters and some biographies and memoirs from his friends. You will find out about all of you asked below on this website, except for Miss Brawne's letters- you can find a copy of that on Amazon- it is called The Letters of Fanny Brawne to Fanny Keats.

"also, where can i find out more about the people in his life, his inner circle if you will, do they have writings about keats as well?
also, are fanny's letters to fanny keats listed here?

thanks you in advance for any guidance, i appreciate it! you all seem so knowledgeable & i am just beginning my keats journey.

truly,
~nicole"

It depends- on what people are doing in their lives, what threads we have going etc- it varies. Maybe you could start some new threads? :D

Oh hi again!

I'm sorry I haven't seen this thread before starting to post... I do apologize. (I didn't see it was under the Miscellaneous section) :(
Thank you again for welcome me in the "Keats around the world" section.

I'm Laura, I live in Rome and I'm a translator. I graduated in English Literature maaaany years ago and I'm a volunteer of the "Friends of the non-catholic cemetery at Rome". I've known Keats' poems for many years, but I fell deeply in love with Keats' poetry only after I visited his house and grave almost one year ago. June 22nd 2009. :)

Hello, my name is Harmony.
I play the harp.
I love Romanticism in terms of every aspect of culture that it applies to.
I turn eighteen on May 27th.
I love poetry.
I am in the midst of writing a rather transcendent novelette.
I recently deactivated my facebook and I am much happier.
I have nightmares a lot and I have to wake people up in the middle of the night because I am so frightened.
I like to doodle a lot.
I am so very shy, but when I know someone well I never cease to talk.
I have this passion for dead composers, poets, and historical figures. I fancy myself wedding Franz Liszt, John Keats, or Woodrow Wilson.
Camping is my favorite thing to do.
