A lot of the folk caught in the shots seem to be aware they are being filmed, which made me wonder what the filming device must have looked like - it must have been an unwieldy thing.
To think that Virginia Woolf was alive when that footage was taken! Great to imagine how it would have been for her, roaming the streets, seeing the men in their bowler hats and with their long umbrellas and the women in their puffed-out dresses covering almost every inch of skin.
