Very good once again dks- squirms with jealously

I must say, though, I feel like quite the "square peg" on the forum in that I'm not romantic (i.e. I consider myself a practical person, though I have Romantic sensibilities--in that I identify with many Romantic philosophies, but I'm not a person who really lives creatively through my emotions). I'm not much of a poet or artist, either, like so many of you on the forum--you are all well nigh amazing! But I think that people who see the world through their emotions--i.e. are very close to their emotions--can translate them into art better than those of us who do not. (Now I'm envious of you all! hehe)
Credo Buffa wrote:You have such a great talent for imagery and metaphor, dks! All of your poems that I've read here have been able to describe really simple but profound ideas in ways that don't sound like greeting cards. If would be so easy to be cliche with these things, but you come up with really creative ways to send the same message in a way that can reach a wide audience; you're definitely a poet for the "modern woman"![]()

I had my certificate here somewhere, hold on, where has it gone....ah -- here we are:
So there
Credo Buffa wrote:Wow, you're a poetry machine, dks (that almost sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it?)!
I used to write poetry quite a lot when I was in high school as well. However, since starting college, my creative output has shifted more to music. I am getting back into writing narrative fiction, though. Any poems I've written in the past few years have been sort of drab and forced (cardinal sin of poetry), so I quite envy your proficiency and original voice!

What - you knew that I was certified?
