Here's an article I found about the Bright Star movie. Looks like Campion will have a famous Keats scholar as her writing guide. This is a relief to me as I was concerned the movie might completely change huge aspects of Keats's life--such as ditching his siblings (making it as if they never existed) or something like that.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Jane Campion, who has recently stunk up the box office with films like Holy Smoke and In the Cut, is prepping her next project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Reporter notes that Campion is currently writing the screenplay for Bright Star, a romantic period drama for the British arm of France-based Pathe Entertainment, Pathe U.K. No production start date has been set.
The film is based on the three-year romance that developed between 19th century poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne. Their relationship was cut short, however, when Keats died at the young age of 25. Andrew Motion, the British poet laureate, will be consulting on the Campion script, which is expected to be given the Pathe in the next few weeks.
Jan Chapman will be producing Bright Star for Campion. Chapman worked with Campion on Holy Smoke and The Piano, which earned Campion both the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Fest and an Oscar for her original screenplay and earned Chapman an Oscar nod for Best Picture.
Campion is currently in Cannes screening her short The Water Diary out of competition. Chapman, meanwhile, is there with Suburban Mayhem from Aussie helmer Paul Goldman
