Also an edit here. Just sharing the poetic process--if that's what you'd call it.

Free

I’m going to break
Out of this block,
If it takes
All the time
I’ve ever known.

And if all I leave with
Are my busted irons
And broken nails
Stuffed
With rebar,
Blood and skin;

Still, I’ll walk free.
No more dumbstruck
Begging of you, jailer,
On my waled, tender
Knees.

Soon, I’ll be out.
Where the only thought
catching me
Is the Autumn Royal
Grape scent
Of swollen laurel seeds
blooming on the breeze.

Its better to be alone than in a bad relationship I suppose.

By the way what does rebar mean :?:

Is it re-bar as in to re-inter behind bars?

Sorry-

Rebar is a type of reinforced concrete.

No I'm sorry I tried to search on dictionary.com and I couldn't find a meaning.

Must be a local product.
