Because of You

Postby Saturn » Sat Jul 15, 2006 12:49 am

Yet another dreary song of unrequited love

This really should be a song and not a poem I suppose.

Because of You

Because of you
I cannot sleep at night.
Because of you
I will never feel alright.
Because of you
The sun's no longer bright.

Because of you
I'm filled with golden light.
Because of you
I've roamed ev'ry height.
Because of you
This life I cherish tight.

In spite of me
You sleep without a care.
In spite of me
You're happy above compare.
In spite of me
You're blinded by its flare.

In spite of me
You ever look so fair
In spite of me
You walk abroad so rare.
In spite of me
Of Mortality you're unaware.

We cannot be together
I cannot be apart.
We cannot be together
You said it from your heart.
We cannot be together
I knew it from the start.

We cannot be together
I saw it it in your eyes.
We cannot be together
It came as no surprise.
We cannot be together
If only one of us tries.

:(

A litany of well delivered sadness.

For those of you wondering...

No I did not get the title from that bloody Kelly Clarkson song

She is kind of hot though in a rather too obvious-male fantasy kind of way.

Ah, but songs are poems (at least the good ones, anyway  )

I'm glad you think she's hot, Saturn. She's curvy--not stick, waif thin--has anyone seen Kate Bosworth lately??

Ah, but even Miss Kelly Clarkson used to really look like a "normal" woman (not that she wasn't always pretty, but more in a "girl next door" kind of way than the "obvious male fantasy" that Saturn is talking about) back in her American Idol days. I suppose that just goes to show you how much of "the biz" is a molded image.

 Yes, very true! It's frightening just how much of their inner selves they sell or give away for Hollywood.

I just saw Kate Bowsworth in Superman Returns today.

I hate it when blondes go brunette - supposedly in order to look either dowdy or sophisticated

I just saw Superman Returns today too!

But who's to say that Kate Bosworth isn't naturally brunette? I think the vast majority of "blondes" in the entertainment industry (actually, in the world at large) aren't actually blonde. I think I read a statistic once that of all caucasian women in America and Europe, one third are "blonde," but only one in twenty is naturally so. So there ya go. . . have fun sorting out who's who. :P

Although, methinks that Kate Bosworth had her hair dyed for this role to match the character of Lois Lane in the original movies.

We all know "gentlemen prefer blondes" and "blondes have more fun" and etc., etc., yadda yadda--but is it so bad being brunette?? :?

All guys like blondes but I have a major thing about redheads  :D

It was all her fault as a kid:

Now my favourite redhead is:

I also have soft spots for Jodie Foster, Julianne Moore, Nicole Kidman ...

It's been my experience--well, my red-headed *freinds'* experience anyway!--that guys who go for redheads really GO for them. I mean, it's like a strange obsession.

The current object of my affection and inspiration for this and other recent poems is a natural redhead...

...but she dyes her hair blonde...
