Well, I know one Irishman in particular who loves brunettes with dark eyes. So there!

Y'know what I've always found interesting? Popular culture tells us that men prefer blonde women, but it also tells us that "Mr. tall, dark, and handsome" is the ideal man. So men go for blonde women, but how often do women go for blond men?

I like blonde men. I also know plenty of men who don't particularly go crazy for blondes...I think it is truly a matter of who you ask...beauty is in the eye of the beholder--for certain. :wink:

It's all to do with the person.

I would not go out with someone because of the colour of their hair. :roll:

It's just the thing I notice first.

Personality is the most important thing.

You don't fall in love with a hair-shade

I was half teasing, Saturn. It's just that I'm the only brunette girl on here, aren't I? Knee-jerk reaction, I had to defend my dark haired sisters out there--those of us with dark hair and dark eyes who often get labeled "exotic" or "mysterious." We're not often considered "fair."

I had to thank that sweet Irishman out there... :oops:

Well, to be technical, "fair" also means pale or light in color (aka blonde), so that would be an accurate description of most natural blondes, despite whatever other physical features they may/may not have. :wink:

Yes...true. But I guess I was referring to the historical apsects of literature's depiction of "fair."

Yeah, the hair color thing...I have a fervent deal about men who drool over blondes...maybe it's just the American men who like them--they are usually a certain type of guy (sorry, yes, I'm stereotyping)--I don't know--they get on my nerves. The whole blonde, boob fixation...it's rather squallid in it's barbie doll-like fetishistic aspect, I suppose. And, perhaps, my irritation is misdirected--perhaps, it should be pointed at those women who become 'blonde' for the sake of attracting that type of man--think Pamela Anderson--it just bugs me.

But, I have to say, there are now quite a few dark haired beauties on the scene now--like Salma Hayek and Catherine Zeta-Jones...I don't know why I'm going on about this--I was born with dark red hair (my Russian grandmother is a strawberry blonde)--I always dyed my hair dark brown in high school...to hide the red! :oops:

It's just as wrong to stereotype all blondes as dumb as it is to stereotyoe men who like blondes as vacuous and shallow.
