Yellow Sky

Just finished this one...

Yellow Sky

This yellow sky hugs
The wet world
Like a wool blanket
On a hot beach.

It threatens to spread
And snuff out
The red fire that is you—
Finger flames
Kneading my mind.

What kind
Of love are you?
Where is the shore
That knows your feet?
How can I fetch a single
Drop of that lucky ebb
And secret sea?

Can you lift
A vapored corner of this sky for me?
As I cast this out to its silver,
Soldering eye,
Hear me, hear me—
Let it rain.

I will love you
Until I die.

The first four lines there are incredibly evocative and imaginative. Another sterling performance dks :D

Also

Now you're making me blush.

Thank you, Saturn. I was trying to capture a certain feeling at a very certain moment...I rather like doing that--like punching through an evening breeze with your fist, open, hoping to catch that firefly--then slowly opening your palm waiting to hear and see that buzz and glow...

Not sure I got the buzz and glow, but it is finished. Nothing more I can do there with it.

That's what I try to do also. It's the hardest thing in the world to, as Blake says:

'To Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour'.
