Rain Maker

And yet another metaphor from yours truly...

Rain Maker

My nimbus hollows are squeezed full,
Drizzle beads
Gather and pull more mounting air.

You are waiting alone there.
Moored to the mossy filigree,
That spreads over the dry lea.

I hold my breath, stubbornly.
You’re anticipating a gale.
I cannot keep this solvent mist
From its lag over your meadow,
Littered with parti-colored leaves.

Here it is again—
My squall at great velocity.
Endeavoring to soak the thirsty fields,
Your petals will render to clover honey.

Candied stems run muddy brown,
This pouring out will bear some hail,
And level a low rising sea.
"I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and the Truth of Imagination."

Maestra...oh, you are really being way too kind, Stephen...I've found myself bowing, too, when reading your verse...that Tantalus...

Enough with that poem!! It really is nothing special I far prefer many other ones I've written. I do not rate it too highly at all.

But I do.

Nah. You know what? I shall never speak of it again.

Oh no.

Now I've made you angry

I'm very sorry Denise I'm just in awful mood at the minute - I shouldn't have taken that out on you.

I am really glad you like that poem, YOU are my critic and my readership rolled into one.

If I had an ounce of your talent and discernment I would deserve your admiration.

Ouch.

I think Richard was complimenting you, Denise. At least, I read it that way.
