I've been listening to CBC radio from Vancouver, B.C. and on a talk show, someone just quoted Keats The host said, "it is the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness"--and his interviewee agreed--it is the best time of the year.

Guess who was the subject of a video daily double on Jeaopardy last night!! The video portion was a picture of the Spanish Steps and Keats's upstairs window was circled in red with "me!" written just outside the window. The answer was: "If John Keats were sending this postcard to his friends, from what City would he be writing?" I screamed "ROME!!!!" at the TV and the guy couldn't answer the daily double. He said: "What is Florence"
Oh well!Great to see Keats mentioned on gameshows, at any rate.

I don't know if anyone realizes it (or cares! ) but John-Keats.com is a link on at least one of the BBC's webpages. Pretty cool! I like that we're described as a 'digest'.

I suppose the biography section and the letters and poems on the main page could be described as a 'digest' of Keats - the man and his work.

It's very strange to me the thought of people clicking onto our little haven, passing by and moving on.

I feel the sudden need to become all professional and articulate knowing such prestigious visitors we must have.

Who knows who has stumbled upon here; by accident or design?

John Keats was sighted last night at the Spokane Falls Toastmasters meeting in Spokane, Washington! Well, actually, it was a poster copy of Severn's charcol drawing of Keats's head accompanied by an introduction to Keats and a dramatic recitation of his Ode to A Nightingale--presented by yours truly!

My Toastmasters speech was all about Keats and I think that I was able to make a positive introduction of our poet. There's one genuine Englishman in our club, Alan, and he enjoyed it--so I considered that an accomplishment.

The president of our club was inspired to watch Dead Poets' Society again

Anyway, someone told me that when she heard that my speech would be poetical recitation, she dreaded what she'd have to listen through. But she told me she was happily surprised. Keats was actually *interesting* and she enjoyed the "deliciousness" of his words. Do we have a new convert? Perhaps!
