Yes, this is true...McAvoy seems like an intelligent enough actor...

but he pales in comparison to the knowledge and insight you showcase on here... :wink:

I think I'd settle for a cameo.

I think it tried to make a recovery a few years ago--long, form-fitting, button-down coats and high necks and whatnot--but sadly it never filtered down from the big designers into the rest of society.

We girls wish it just as much as you do, Saturn, believe me!

No, no, no--I didn't say Abby--I wouldn't want to play Brown's mistress--I meant some other unknown cook or maid! :lol:

I have to say the role was made for James Mc avoy,he researches big time for his film roles so im sure he will be aborbed by the world of keats for his research for Mr tumbus in chronicles of narnia he lived with a family of billy goats for 6 months to get that fawn feeling,it just goes to show the lenghts he went to get in character.

An interesting question seems to be playing in the background here. . .that question is:

Who would you like to play if you were acting in a movie about Keats?

Considering I'm a girl and probably couldn't get away with playing any of the men (unless it were done in some "Boys Don't Cry" kind of way

), I would choose to play Maria Dilke. She was somewhat motherly, but still young and had a great sense of humor--and she was the one who introduced Keats to Fanny Brawne

Im not too sure who i would like to play to be honest,when i was younger i did play a king in the navity play,thats my highlight so far

I'd opt to play Fanny, but I'd probably be better cast as Isabella Jones--Fanny was 18 and I'm not quite that anymore...only a few years older now...

I'd have to play a love interest of some sort...maybe the lady at Vauxhaull...I flatter myself...sorry... :oops:

But I'd pay good money to see Edward play Keats with a thick Dooblin accent..."what's the stawwrry, Fanny?" :lol:

Any biopic of Keats would have to portray him as a man outside of his time. He seemed to possess a nervousness that went beyond the Romantic conception of what a poet should be contra the Byronic hero and Shelley utopian.

My thoughts anyway.

He took his craft with a 20th/21st century seriousness (which really reminds me of Dante, Petrarca, some Provencales, as well as Donne and those stab-one-another-over-a-sonnet-crowd of Elizabethans).

WH Auden is a good case in point when it comes to a (recently) modern poet with the same attention to language and sound as our hero Keats.

What about Sean Astin in the main role?
