Shipwrecked

The rock I once held,
Which kept me afloat,
Has slipped my grasp,
Has sunk to the deep.

I can no longer swim,
I can no longer tread
The waters I did sail
Now lap around my head.

I've been Marooned,
I've been deserted,
I'm forgotten by all.
Now I'm left to drown.

But I drift to the shore,
I bury myself in sand;
My only Hope a storm
To wash away the pain.

I am washed up,
I am worn out,
Soon I'll be starving,
Half-mad and blind.

I can drink only tears,
Feed on black despair,
The dark horizon lies
Empty and all alone.

All that I once loved,
All that I once was
Is left far behind,
And sailing far away.

Friends all have failed,
Love's promise is gone
And so I stand, naked,
Cold, and utterly lost.

A battered barren coast,
A dank desolate shore
Is now my only home
And will be ever more.
"Oh what a misery it is to have an intellect in splints".

Another amazing poem Stephen,Your work is so raw, rich and so real that i can only feel for you, that feeling of being "shipwrecked" is one of true loneliness and isolation,I hope that a silver boat passes by full of supermodels to stop at your island to keep you company my friend.

Then to truly head home, their are battles that you can fight for love then their are battles which are already lost but at least you did fight ,you should be proud, never give up hope, nothing is impossible.

Edward:

Good luck over here. There are many options other than direct enrolment in a four year college or university.

Many students get their visas and kick ass at he CC level, after two years they transfer to the four year of their choice with a full scholarship (like from the Brouse Foundation)

I did it. Others still do. The money is out there.

O, as to the cheerleader response and the above: res ipsa loquitor. A wonderful Latin phrase to use instead of embarrasing one with fulsome praise.

Good luck again
"I can see!" cried the blind man, as he picked up the hammer and saw.
